Studio Access Firing Form (Current Students Only)
Open Access Studio Firing and Gazing
The following relates to work made outside of class/course time.
Firing Costs (by weight)
Bisque Firing: $8 per kg
Mid-Fire (Stoneware) Firing: $11 per kg
Use of Studio Glazes: $5 per kg (this includes underglazes)
Glaze Use
You may use studio glazes or your own glazes, provided they are cone 6 / mid-fire compatible.
All external glazes must be clearly labelled with the brand, name, and firing range.
Test tiles are recommended before applying to finished work.
Guidelines
All work must be made from cone 6 compatible clay and clearly labelled with your name and date.
Pieces must be fully dry and ready to fire — no damp work will be accepted.
Please weigh your work before submission; firing costs are charged by the kilo.
Payment is required at the time of submission.
The studio reserves the right to decline any work that may damage kilns or shelves (e.g. unknown clay bodies, over-glazed bases, or structural issues).
Firings will be scheduled based on kiln load and studio availability.
Notes
For large-scale pieces or special firing requests, please check with Belinda prior to submission.
