Breaking Through (SOLD)

I am captivated by the intricate webs of a Raku firing. Like an ancient map to a forgotten world, the journey unfolds as the outer is transformed by the inner burning for change.
This decorative / non-functional bowl is thrown of a wheel and raku fired. I use western-style raku involving removing the pots from the kiln while glowing red and placing it into a metal container with combustible materials. Once the materials ignite, the containers are closed. This process individualises the pieces. h82 mm x w100mm x d100mm
